Turning Website Content into Facebook Posts

One of the struggles a lot of us have is where to find good content, not only for our website but for our social media pages as well. I am not a social media expert, and don’t want to be, but I do have a few tricks up my digital sleeves I am happy to share with you!

Earlier this week I shared with you ways to discover new content that you can then share on your website in blog posts, articles and such. Today, I thought I would share how to take that content and use it to create social media posts to share.

Scan your content for juicy tidbits.

Your passion is going to come out in the the “conversation” you had sharing details about your why, journey, and success stories, and that passion is going to offer up some juicy tidbits that you can turn into a social media post.

Let me share an example… last week I shared a post about¬†Setting Clear Boundaries from Your Website Pages. From that post (which started off as a Facebook Live BTW) I created this social media post

If I were to continue to scan the post, I am certain I would find other juicy tidbits that I could share online. I could also take this same juicy tidbit and share it as a text post on social media with additional conversation added in.

Discovering Content for Live Videos

Let’s say you have been blogging for a while, and now you are ready to step out into the limelight and do some Facebook live videos, but you’re not quite sure where to begin. I have no doubt you have already guessed what I am about to say… scan your blog posts for content!

Your blog posts are tasty little nuggets that already showcase your expertise, and can act as a script of sorts when you are ready to get behind the camera. The best part is that your Facebook Live may turn out to be a perfect recap of the blog post you created, giving you reason to share it again on Facebook. It may also turn into something fresh and new which you can then turn into a new blog post after you’ve done your Facebook live.

My final piece of advice …

You don’t have to always come up with something completely different or new. In fact, sharing what you have already shared in fresh new ways is a great way to reinforce your message and reach those who missed it the first time around.
